Robert McLaughlin Gallery RMG Exposed Emerging Photographer Award

admin • November 23, 2014

I am so honoured to have been selected this year’s Robert McLaughlin Gallery RMG Exposed CIBC Wood Gundy Emerging Photographer of the Year for the Best Overall Submission.  There were so many talented photographer’s showcasing their work.  More than 350 pieces were submitted, fifty of which were printed for auction.  The awards night was an emotional roller coaster for me.  So much talent in one room.  And seeing “Andreas” hanging on the wall was overwhelming.  Honestly, one of my proudest moments.  It was such an honour.  It is so hard to find the right words.

Thank you to the jurors for their support.  Thank you to Marni Grossman who purchased the framed piece.  I am so looking forward to seeing “Andreas” hanging in his new home.

Aside from the recognition, I was offered a Spring solo exhibit at the gallery.  I am beyond thrilled to start planning for it.  Just goes to show you that dreams really do come true.  xo 2014-10-02_0001

Back to black. Nature inspired me to create some new work. Going back to black to make the colours pop, I worked with an amazing seamstress to create this skirt intended to resemble leaves.
