Always striving for better

I have been working in the water this summer creating two brand new bodies of work. I am always trying to push myself and my creativity and often times I fail to see just how far I have come. I felt a gentle nudge the other day to step back and observe and the impact took my breathe away. Here is one of the image from my first series in the water. This image gained a great deal of attention and in fact won an award and with that award came my very first solo exhibit in 2014.

And here is where I am right now….

Same medium. Same figurative focus. Very different work. I love both for very different reasons. But what I love most about seeing them together is the recognition that perseverance, hard work, many many long hours, dedication, and trial and error, in the end, get you to where you are supposed to be.
