Sometimes I look back on my images and think…..gawd what was I thinking? When the image was created I thought…..this is amazing…look at me! With time, you develop new skills, see things in a new light……I attended a portfolio review a while ago, and some of the reviewer’s observations were quite harsh and it took some time for me to hear what they said without emotion attached to it because so often the images that I create are chalk full of personal emotion. In retrospect, although the delivery was harsh, the message was clear. Great ideas, very poor execution. So, after repairing my bruised ego, I decided to try to create a new image with the same meaning.

Back to black. Nature inspired me to create some new work. Going back to black to make the colours pop, I worked with an amazing seamstress to create this skirt intended to resemble leaves.
